[External_Sender] Tritium leak at Indian Point Neil:
We have seen considerable media attention related to the recently discovered leak at Indian Point. We all realize that the amount of tritium detected in the monitoring wells does not present a health or safety issue to the general publicYET.
I have some specific questions relater to this recent event and would appreciate your response.
It is OK to say I dont know.
- 1. Has the source of the leak been identified?
- 2. Has the leak been isolated?
- 3. When did the leak begin?
- 4. How long does it take for the tritium to migrate from the source to the monitoring wells?
- 5. Other than tritium, what other isotopes were leaked into the ground?
- 6. Was the leak the result of human error or pipe corrosion or design?
- 7. What was the leak rate and total volume and curie total released to the ground?
Your prompt response will be appreciated.
