NRC Notification of State of Florida Regarding St. Lucie License Amendment - Transition to NFPA 805 Performance-Based Standard for Fire Protection Good Morning Ms. Becker, As a follow-up to our phone this morning, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is about to issue license amendments for the St. Lucie Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2. In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.91(b), I am notifying you of the proposed issuance of these amendments.
Please reply if the State of Florida has comments on the following licensing action submitted to the NRC by Florida Power
& Light Company, et al. (the licensee): Transition to 10 CFR 50.48(c) - NFPA 805 Performance-Based Standard for Fire
2 Protection for Light Water Reactor Generating Plants (2001 Edition) dated March 22, 2013 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML13088A173), as supplemented by letters dated June 14, 2013, February 24, 2014, March 25, 2014, April 25, 2014, July 14, 2014, August 27, 2014, September 10, 2014, October 10, 2014, March 10, 2015, April 1, 2015, April 20, 2015, May 12, 2015, August 21, 2015 and October 22, 2015.
The associated proposed no significant hazards consideration for this amendment request was published in the Federal Register on December 26, 2013, (78 FR 78407).
