Site: SALEM Emergency Class: Not Applicable "At approximately 1310 [EST] on January 26th, 2016, a deceased Atlantic Sturgeon was removed from the Salem Unit 1 Circulating Water System (CWS) Intake trash racks at the Salem Generating Station. A report was made by Environmental Licensing to the National Marine Fisheries at 1332*and NJOEP [New Jersey Office of Environmental Protection] Division of Fish & Wildlife at 1330. Nuclear Environmental Affairs has made a determination that this is a 4 hr report to the NRC under RAL 11.8.2.a."
The licensee has notified the NRC Resident Inspector.
Notified the R1DO (Bickett) and the Endangered Species Group both via E-mail.
