SUBJECT:
REQUALIFICATION PROGRAM INSPECTION AT PALISADES STATION
Dear Mr. Vitale:
In a telephone conversation on January 7, 2016, Mr. R.K. Walton, from Operator Licensing Branch and Ms. B. Dotson, Palisades Regulatory Affairs made arrangements for the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to inspect the Licensed Operator Requalification Program at the Palisades Station. The inspection is planned for the week of February 8, 2016, which coincides with your regularly scheduled requalification examination cycle. The staff at your facility should prepare and conduct the requalification examinations in accordance with your NRC-approved Requalification Program.
In accordance with Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 55.59(c), the NRC may request facility licensees to submit their biennial comprehensive requalification written examinations or annual operating tests as necessary to support the NRC's inspection program needs. In order for the NRC to adequately prepare for this inspection, please furnish the operating tests scheduled to be administered the weeks of February 1 and February 8, 2016 to the NRC by February 2, 2016. Ms. B. Dotson has been advised of this request and provided with the name and address of the NRC lead inspector assigned to this inspection.
