STANDARD:

  • Closes 1-CH-FCV-1113B, Blender to Chg Pump. CRITICAL STEP.
  • Closes 1-CH-FCV-1114B, Blender to VCT. CRITICAL STEP.

EVALUATORS NOTE:

Closing 1-CH-FCV-1113B, and 1-CH-FCV-1114B are critical steps to ensure flow is not directed to the VCT.

Close or check closed 1-FC-71, U1 RWST Retun Isol. (Step 5.1.11)

STANDARD:

a) Operator contacts NLO on gaitronics and directs opening 1-CH-208, 1-CH-210, and 1-CH-391. Directing the NLO to open 1-CH-208, 1-CH-210, and 1-CH-391 is a critical step. CRITICAL STEP.

EVALUATORS NOTE:

  • This step is critical in order to establish a flow path to the RWST. 1-FC-71 is not critical because it is normally closed and that is desired position.

BOOTH OPERATORS NOTE:

Insert Trigger 1 to open valves to establish flow path to RWST after receiving direction to open 1-CH-208, 1-CH-210, and 1-CH-391. Use time compression, and report completion of valve manipulations to the operator.

COMMENTS:

STEP 8:

_______ SAT Place the control switch for 1-CH-FVC-1113A, BORIC ACID TO BLENDER, to AUTO. (Step 5.1.16) _______ UNSAT STANDARD:

a) Operator places 1-CH-FVC-1113A, BORIC ACID TO BLENDER, to AUTO.

CRITICAL STEP.

EVALUATORS NOTE:

  • This step is necessary to ensure 1-CH-FCV-1113A modulates at the set flow rate.
  • After CH-FCV-1113A is placed in AUTO, the integrator will begin to count and Boric Acid will begin to flow. This is because a flow path has been established.

Notes This failure will cause A SG Channel III NR level to fail low. A FRV will open, causing A SG NR on the two operable channels to rise. The A FRV will fail to shift to manual control, requiring the operator to throttle flow with the Feedwater isolation MOV to prevent a turbine trip/reactor trip on SG NR high high level.
