University of Illinois, Urbana - B.S. Civil Engineering/Structural - 1990 Professional Certifications/Registrations:

Professional Engineer - Arizona Professional Engineer - Illinois Structural Engineer - Illinois Mr. McLean has 23 years of experience in the structural design and analysis of various new and operating nuclear plant structures and components. He is currently working with Westinghouse on the AP1000 design, with Toshiba on the EU-ABWR design, and occasionally with KEPCO-E&C on the APR1400 design. He recently was the manager responsible for structural work on Entergys southern fleet, Toshiba, Bruce, and SHINE projects. Before that, he was the structural manager responsible for the design of the Reactor Building and Reinforced Concrete Containment Vessel for the ABWR at STP Units 3 & 4 in the Chicago office.

On the Westinghouse AP1000 project, he manages structural modules projects in the Chicago office and provides consulting services to their Structural Review Board (SRB).

On the STP Units 3 & 4 project, he worked closely with Toshiba Corporation on the design of their US-ABWR Reactor Building and Reinforced Concrete Containment Vessel. The design activities included analysis of RB complex for hydrodynamic loading, analysis of RPV Pedestal, analysis of Reactor Shield wall, analysis of containment shell and liner, design of Reactor Building shear and partition walls, seismic and hydrodynamic spectra generation, containment penetration analysis, and design criteria and specification development.
