General Comment The environmental impact study is a positive next step in the future of Diablo Canyon. With the shuttering of San Onofre, California's energy profile has become increasingly carbon heavy. To not pursue the continued safe and reliable operation of Diablo Canyon would make the situation worse. Nuclear energy in the United States is a safe, clean, and reliable way of making energy and should continue to be a part of our energy future. Additionally, the economic benefits that Diablo Canyon provides to the community cannot be discounted. Thank you for considering this important step in maintaining the state's and the country's clean energy supply.
