SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT FOR THE SHINE MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIES, INC. CONSTRUCTION PERMIT APPLICATION
Dear Dr. Piefer:
This letter is to inform you that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has completed the safety evaluation report (SER) for the SHINE Medical Technologies, Inc.
construction permit application, submitted in two parts by letters dated March 26, 2013 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML13088A192), and May 31, 2015 (ADAMS Accession No. ML13172A361), as supplemented on September 25, 2013 (ADAMS Accession No. ML13269A378).
The enclosed SER is being provided to SHINE for your information and will be submitted to the Commission in preparation for the mandatory (uncontested) hearing, scheduled for December 15, 2015. The SER has also been placed in the public document room and has been made publicly available in ADAMS under Accession No. ML15288A076. The NRC staffs issuance of this SER does not constitute a commitment to issue the construction permit, or in any way affect the authority of the Commission in any mandatory hearing proceeding pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 50.58, Hearings and report of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards.
