Subject:

Clinton Power Station Request for Initial Operator Licensing Re-examination

Reference:

Lette'r from Hironori Peterson (U.S. NRC) to James R. Nelson (EGC) dated June 9, 2015 This letter is a follow up to a telephone conversation between Mr. Daniel Snook, Clinton Power Station (CPS) Operations Training Manager, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (EGC), and Mr. Dell McNeil, U.S. NRC Region 3 (NRC). The referenced letter above states the license application for Mr. James Nelson is now a final denial. The referenced letter also states Mr. Nelson is required to retake the administrative/systems/simulator operating test and may request a waiver from the written examination portion of the ILT NRC examination.

This letter documents a tentative agreement reached to re-administer Mr. Nelson's Job Performance Measure (JPM) portions of operating test for the week of August 17, 2015.

EGC requests a waiver of the written examination portion of the retake examination as stated in the reference letter. Additionally, EGC requests Mr. Nelson be excused from taking the simulator portion of the operating examination. This request is based on Mr. Nelson's solid performance on the simulator portion of the original operating examination as well as the information in the attached document. EGC requests the attached document be held from public release for two years based on the information included in the letter contains information of the contents for the original ILT exam given at CPS starting March 16, 2015.

The NRC excusing Mr. Nelson from the written examination portion and the simulator operating examination portion will result in Mr. Nelson needing to successfully pass the 15 administrative/systems JPMs portion of the retake examination.

There are no regulatory commitments contained within this letter.

Should you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact Mr. Christopher Dunn, Clinton Training Director, at (217) 937-4000.
