Change of NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) Chief Reactor Operations and Engineering Docket No. 50-184 Gentlemen:
In accordance with the requirements of the NBSR Technical Specifications, section 6.7.2.(2)(a),
we are reporting that the Chief Reactor Operations and Engineering has changed. Dr. Thomas H.
Newton has assumed the responsibilities of this position effective August 24, 2015 at which time he also became the Deputy Director of the NCNR. Dr. Newton holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Prior to coming to the NCNR, Dr. Newton was the Director of Reactor Operations of the MIT Nuclear Reactor Laboratory, where prior to that he served as its Associate Director for Engineering. Dr. Newton has over 30 years of experience in reactor operations and engineering.
