June 18, 2015 My reason of concern regarding the Fermi 2 Spent Fuel Pool unloading schedule stems from this 1999 Holtec Report M1-992154, Revision 6 https://adamswebsearch2.nrc.gov/webSearch2/main. jsp? AccessionNumber=ML993440246 which suggests time-to-boil of 4.2 hours2.314815e-5 days <br />5.555556e-4 hours <br />3.306878e-6 weeks <br />7.61e-7 months <br />.
While Holtec seems confident that replacement water is more than abundant, nuclear engineers with whom I consult inform me that the humidity would be so extreme that electrical equipment would begin to fail under these extreme conditions. The overloaded Spent Fuel Pool at Fermi 2 is of grave concern, and the suggested mitigation is suspect. I draw your attention to the Fermi 2 Spent Fuel Pool with hopes of preventing a catastrophic failure.
