NRC's accounting of Commitment Completion for IP2
- Charlie, To answer your question about our accounting of commitments on Slide 7, heres what I put together for our staff.
Kim March 2012 inspection (April 2012 inspection report):
Commitments Reviewed and Determined to be Completed:
28 29 34 36 Commitments Needing Additional Inspection:
2 3
May 2013 inspection (July 2013 inspection report):
Commitments Reviewed and Determined to be Completed:
1 2
3 4
5 7
8 9
10 12 14
2 15 16 17 18 20 21 22 24 25 30 31 35 37 38 41 42 44 45 46 Commitments Needing Additional Inspection:
6 13 19 23 26 27 33 40 43 47 48 September 2013 inspection (September 2013 inspection report):
Commitments Reviewed and Determined to be Completed:
6 13 19 23 26 27 33 40 43 48 Commitments Needing Additional Inspection:
47 (because Entergy changed the completion date) Your slide # 26 say 47 was deleted, same as the commitment list in the SER?
Additional Notes:
The Region determined that Commitments 11, 32, and 39 do not apply to IP2.
3 For Commitments 41 and 42, the Region reviewed Entergys commitment implementation plan. The implementation dates for them are 9/28/2023, and prior to March 2024, respectively. This is mentioned in the July 2013 inspection report.
Commitment 47 was subsequently deleted because Entergy determined that it did not need to submit a plant-specific evaluation, and the staff agreed. Jeff Poehler mentions this during his presentation.
So, if my math is correct:
There are 50 commitments listed in Appendix A to SSER2, 3 were deleted (11, 39, and 47) = 47; 1 does not apply to IP2 (32) = 46; Commitments 49 and 50 were added after the inspections and have not been inspected by the Region yet = 44 According to the September 2013 Inspection Report, the Region concluded that Entergy had made sufficient progress to complete our review of 44 commitments.
Please let me know if I missed something.
Kim
