Citizens Resistance At Fermi 2 (CRAFT), one of the Intervenors in this proceeding, asks the Board to hold the evidentiary hearing in Detroit, arguing that Monroe, Michigan, is a company town where the public would feel uncomfortable and that Detroit would be more accessible to members of the Walpole Island First Nation.1 NRC Staff opposes the request.2 The evidentiary hearing in this proceeding could not occur until mid-2016 at the earliest, and it is not yet clear who the witnesses will be. In choosing a location, the Board will take into 1

consideration accessibility for witnesses, representatives, and the public. The time for making such a decision has not arrived, however. CRAFTs request is therefore denied as premature.
