Dear Mr. Vitale:

This letter refers to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Office of Investigations (OI) review and interviews conducted with members of your staff to determine whether a former Security Manager at Palisades Nuclear Plant assigned a Security Supervisor to perform armed security officer duties on December 24, 2012, knowing the individual was not qualified to perform the duties. Based on our review of the matter, we did not identify any new violations of NRC requirements and plan no further action at this time.
