.Cm General Comment

Dear Members of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission:

I oppose the NRC granting Entergy Inc. an exemption which would allow the end of funding for the 10 mile radius emergency planning zone (EPZ). The funding must continue until all the spent fuel has been safely stored. I believe that the EPZ should be extended to cover 50 miles as was the case with Fukushima. It is and has been the responsibility of Entergy, Inc.to adequately fund decommissioning. Even if they have to borrow funds to make good on their legal obligation, safe, responsible decommissioning which adequately protects citizens within a minimum of fifty miles is most reasonable.

I further request that the NRC deny Energy Inc. an exemption which would delay the present 15 minute notification time to 60 minutes (1 hour1.157407e-5 days
2.777778e-4 hours
1.653439e-6 weeks
3.805e-7 months
). Common sense dictates that, if anything, the notification time should be reduced from 15 minutes to 5 minutes to allow for maximum time to respond to an emergency situation at the reactor.

I support the State of VermontdEirMs efforts to require Entergy Inc.to continue EPZ emergency planning zone coverage, at the very minimum, for the present 10 mile radius around Vermont Yankee and continue funding the EPZ until the spent fuel pool is empty and all radioactive spent fuel has been safely transferred within dry cask

Page 2 of 2 storage containers. Hardened On-site Storage would be more costly but is far safer than placing fuel rods in metal containers... How long will it be before these containers leak?

Thank you for allowing citizens the opportunity to comment on these important safety concerns. Are you going to take these comments into account, or favor the corporation, ignoring safety concerns and risking liability for yourselves as well?

Yours truly, Elizabeth Adams-Franklin County concerned citizen https://www.fdms.gov/fdms-web-agency/component/contentstreamer?objectld=09000064819f9b2d&for...
