NRC-2014-0260-DRAFT-0003 Comment on FR Doc # 2015-01707

,/, '-u--- _Submitter Information Name: Dorothy Mclver .'Address: 88 Columbus Ave C)Greenfield, MA, 01301 -Email: twomoons45@verizon.net KCO General Comment Docket ID NRC-2014-0260 I am writing to urge you to deny EntergydEr M s request for exemptions.

I live 10 miles from VT. Yankee and am very concerned that the temporary spent fuel pool is now holding 4 times as much spent fuel as it was designed to hold (close to 3,000 spent fuel rods), on top of a 7 story building, covered with a thin metal roof. Highly radioactive fuel will continue to be moved through 2020 from the over-packed spent fuel pool high above the reactor, into dry cask storage and we need to be protected.

With VY downsizing its staffI am concerned there is not enough security and oversight to protect citizens from terrorist threats or the possible consequences should we have a power outage resulting from severe weather that could cause the grid to go down for longer than a few hours. How long would back up generators be effective?

We are very vulnerable and the plans in place for the evacuation zone need to be kept intact. In fact the current 10 mile zone should be extended to 50 miles since the US government advised US citizens in Japan within 50 miles of Fukushima to evacuate.

Why are our lives not given this importance in our own country? Please do not grant Entergy an exemption for the continued funding for the Emergency Planning Zone or for one that would allow them to increase the present 15 minute warning time to 60 minutes! These requests are irrresponsible and should not be allowed --/ 0 https://www.fdms.gov/fdms-web-agency/component/contentstreamer?objectld=09000064819ef540&for...
