SUBJECT:

INTERIM 10 CFR PART 21 REPORT REGARDING SUBMODULES CA20-03 AND CA20-07A NONCONFORMANCES FOR V.C. SUMMER UNIT 2 AP1000 PROJECT The attachment to this letter provides an interim report in accordance with 10 CFR 21.21 pertaining to submodules CA20-03 and CA20-07A supplied by CB&I Lake Charles for the V.C. Summer Unit 2 AP1000 nuclear project. Based on information in a quality assurance inspection report, some welds were found on these submodules to have some lack of fusion.

Evaluation of reportability in accordance with 10 CFR Part 21 was not able to be completed within the 60-day evaluation period due to the recent discovery that the initial reportability review of these conditions incorrectly determined that no additional evaluation was required.

This condition was discovered during review of a corrective action report regarding these conditions. It is currently expected that the evaluation of this condition will be completed by January 8, 2015.

If you have any questions pertaining to this information, please contact Curtis Castell, Licensing Manager, at 980-321-8314.

Sincerely, Don DePierro Senior Vice President, Nuclear cc: Regional Administrator, USNRC, Region II Attachment
