UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 November 18, 2014 Ms. Debbie Arnold Supervisor District Five Board of Supervisors San Luis Obispo County 1055 Monterey, Room D430 San Luis Obispo, CA 93408-1003

Dear Ms. Arnold:

By letter dated September 19, 2014 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML14274A252), you submitted a request to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to make the draft Diablo Canyon tsunami hazard study by Dr. Robert Sewell available to the public. The NRC has reviewed the draft tsunami hazard study prepared by Dr. Sewell and the circumstances surrounding the NRC's previous determinations to withhold the draft study. Based on the results of this review, the NRC has determined that the draft tsunami hazards report and associated documents that place the draft report into appropriate context can be made public. These documents are now available to the public in ADAMS at Accession No. ML14276A548. Members of the public may access these documents by entering ML14276A548 in the search window at the upper right corner of the NRC's public website at www.nrc.gov.

Thank you for your interest in this matter.

Sincerely,

~c~ ~~~
