Dear Senator Van Drew:
I am responding to your letter dated September 16, 2014, to Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Allison Macfarlane expressing your support and the support of Assemblyman Bob Andrzejczak for a proposed plan by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to fully remediate the Shieldalloy Metallurgical Corporation site in Newfield, New Jersey. Your letter also requests that the Burnt Mill Pond site in Vineland, New Jersey, be included in the remediation.
Thank you for informing the agency of your position and for providing information concerning the Burnt Mill Pond. To the extent it has any future role in the remediation of the Shieldalloy site, the agency will take this information under advisement.
