STATE OF VERMONTS UNOPPOSED MOTION FOR AN EXTENSION OF TIME TO FILE A REPLY TO NRC STAFF AND ENTERGY ANSWERS TO THE STATE OFVERMONTS NOTICE OF INTENTION TO PARTICIPATE, PETITION TO INTERVENE, AND HEARING REQUEST, AND REQUEST FOR RESCHEDULING OF PREHEARING CONFERENCE INTRODUCTION Pursuant to 10 C.F.R. § 2.307(a), the Atomic Safety and Licensing Boards (Board)
October 6, 2014 Order Granting Request to Clarify Schedule for Answers and Reply,1 and Order (Scheduling Pre-Hearing Conference Call) dated October 23, 2014,2 issued in the above-captioned proceeding, the State of Vermont (State), through the Vermont Department of Public Service, submits the following unopposed motion for an extension of time to file a reply to U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Staff (NRC Staff), and Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee, LLC and Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (together, Entergy) answers3 in opposition to the State of Vermonts Notice of Intention to Participate, Petition to Intervene, and Hearing 1 Board Order (Granting Request to Clarify Schedule and Answers and Reply) (Oct. 6, 2014) (unpublished) (Agency Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML14279A281).

Request (Petition),4 and to reschedule a prehearing conference call scheduled for October 29, 2014. The State has been diligent in its efforts to research and draft a reply to the NRC Staff and Entergy answers to the Petition. The reply is due today, October 27, 2014, pursuant to the Boards October 6 Order. However, the significant research required, coupled with undersigned counsels lack of experience with NRC proceedings have made an extension request necessary.
The State respectfully requests that the Board grant an extension of time for the State to file its reply on Friday, October 31, 2014. The State is authorized to represent that both the NRC Staff and Entergy do not oppose this extension request.
A prehearing conference call has been scheduled for October 29, 2014 at 2:00. The State respectfully requests that the Board cancel the prehearing conference call and reschedule the call to a date later than October 31, 2014. Rescheduling the call will enable the Board and the parties to review all relevant filings prior to the prehearing conference. The State is also authorized to represent that the NRC Staff and Entergy do not oppose this request to reschedule the prehearing conference call.
