Site : SALEM Emergency Class : NON EMERGENCY "At approximately 0855 [EDT] , 8/5/2014 a deceased Atlantic sturgeon was removed from the Salem Unit 1 Circulating Water System (CWS) intake trash racks at the Salem Generating Station. Therefore, a report was made to the National Marine Fisheries at 0957 and the NJDEP Division of Fish & Wildlife at 0959, concerning the deceased Atlantic sturgeon by Environmental Licensing.
"Nuclear Environmental Affairs has made a determination that this event warrants a 4 hr report to the NRC under RAL 11 .8.2.a."
Notified R1DO (Schroeder) and NRR Endangered Species group via email.
