Please accept this letter of thanks for hosting the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards Plant Operations and Fire Protection Subcommittee Meeting on July 24, 2014. We also appreciated the Region III staff who supported us during our visit to the Palisades Nuclear Plant on July 23, 2014.
The Region III team provided us with detailed and informative briefings regarding the Regional inspection program and specific technical and programmatic challenges facing Region III. Your staff worked diligently to ensure that our questions were answered accurately and completely.
The opportunity to interact directly with you and your staff was of great value to all of us. Please convey our thanks to all the presenters at the Subcommittee Meeting.
During our visit to Palisades, we appreciated the support of Mr. Eric Duncan, of the Region III staff and the Palisades Resident Inspectors, Alex Garmoe and April Scarbeary. Their detailed knowledge of the site and regulatory perspectives added greatly to the value of our tour of the station.
The professionalism and preparation for these visits by your staff was outstanding. We specifically would like to highlight the outstanding support we received from Ms. Anne Boland and her staff, particularly Mr. Julio Lara, in the overall planning and execution of this visit.
