Notes: May 16, 2013-During the Audit 23465 of PPG it was identified that the Watertown, CT facility has been closed. The coatings production that was in Watertown is now in Alexander, AR. The DBA testing activities is in the process of moving to Bristol, CT. Once the building is complete and the equipment is up and running, the DBA testing will be resumed in Bristol, using the same equipment, processes and personnel. PPG Alexander is planning to conduct an internal audit of this facility as soon as they are up and running. The results of that Audit will be reviewed and a recommendation to the NUPIC membership will be made regarding the need to perform an LSA of the new facility. In addition, the East Point, GA facility performs the design process and formulation controls. It was noted that there have been very minimal design activity in relation to coatings used by the Nuclear Industry. DAS The following information was provided at the October 2012 NUPIC Meeting regarding the relocation of Keeler & Long nuclear coatings to the Alexander, AR facility.
PPG announces that Keeler & Long-Watertown, CT location will no longer manuacture Service Level1 coatings beginning 9/1/2012. All Service Level1 coatings will be manufactured at PPG Protective & Marine Coatings-Alexander, AR location. DBA testing may still be performed at Watertown. All coating design/formulation at East Point, GA which is an EX location to Alexander, AR. PPG K&L 2013 audit scheduled for 01/2013 will be canceled with the team members reassigned to the PG P&M 2013 audit. This audit was rescheduled to 02/2013. Watertown, CT is now an extra location with the Alexander, AR facility the primary location. 2013 audit will be conducted at both Alexander and East Point locations same week (team will be split between these locations). Internal audit of Watertown will be reviewed for DBA testing and associated program elements. Decision will be made by team if site visit is required. J.
