Letter from TVA to NRC, "10 CFR Part 21 Interim Report - Limitorque Valve Motor - Motor Operator of SMB-0 Valve Actuator," dated May 9, 2014.
On May 9, 2014, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) submitted an interim Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 21 Report regarding the outboard bearing for the motor operator of Limitorque SMB-0 Valve Actuator which was found to be degraded on the Residual Heat Removal (RHR) Pump 3C Shutdown Cooling Suction Valve Flow Control Valve.
TVA has completed their evaluation of the motor of Limitorque SMB-0 Valve Actuator and determined that a deviation in the Basic Component does not exist and the condition is no longer subject to an evaluation pursuant to 10 CFR Part 21. Therefore, the referenced interim report may be closed with no additional action required.
