- Roger, Attached is a draft RAI regarding deletion of components from the Condensate System table as delineated in Entergy Letter NL-12-123, dated September 26, 2012. Please let me know if Entergy needs a phone call for clarification of the staffs request. For convenience, we can schedule the call for the same time as the phone call on the RVI response, if that would be beneficial.

D-RAI 3.4.2.1-1 In a letter dated September 26, 2012, Entergy identified additions to and deletions from its license renewal application (LRA) related to the IP2 auxiliary feedwater pump room fire event.
In LRA Table 3.4.2-5-2-IP2, Condensate System, Entergy deleted line items for carbon steel piping, thermowells, and valve bodies exposed internally to treated water, and stainless steel thermowells and valve bodies exposed internally to treated water greater than 140 °F. For these line items, the aging effect identified was cracking due to fatigue and the aging management program was identified as Metal Fatigue - TLAA (time-limited aging analysis). In the letter, Entergy stated that it deleted these line items because the water temperatures are not expected to reach levels where fatigue is a concern.
Justify the apparent use of a threshold temperature for fatigue as the basis for deleting the AMR items from the scope of LRA Table 3.4.2-5-2-IP2 and for concluding that the analyses previously identified as time-limited aging analyses would no longer meet the definition for TLAAs in 10 CFR 54.3.
