FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NPF-30 AMENDMENT 35 TO THE CALLA WAY LRA

2) ULNRC-06117 dated April23, 2014 By the Reference 1letter, Union Electric Company (Ameren Missouri) submitted a license renewal application (LRA) for Callaway Plant Unit 1. Enclosure 1 contains clarified responses to RAis 3.0.3-2a (loss of coating integrity) and 3.3.2-2a (submerged bolting) which were originally provided in Reference 2.

The response to RAI 3.3.2-2a also includes an update to Item 5 of Table A4-1, License Renewal Commitments. contains LRA Amendment 35, which includes updates to the following items in our application:

a) Revised the Structures Monitoring program (B2.1.31) to include reinforced concrete structures in the Circulating Water System as a part of the cooling tower basin in miscellaneous in-scope structures. Concrete structures in the turbine building that provide a flowpath for the circulating water system that were previously managed by RG 1.127 Inspection of Water Control Structures Associated with Nuclear Power Plants program (B2.1.32) have been revised to be managed by the Structures Monitoring program (B2.1.31 ). This change includes updates to Items 23 and 45 of Table A4-1, License Renewal Commitments.

ULNRC-06118 May 6, 2014 Page2 b) LRA Section 4.7.3 has been revised to incorporate a new revision to the calculation for the corrosion analysis of the reactor vessel cladding indication. The TLAA disposition has been changed from validation to aging management as a result of the calculation revision. This change includes a new Item 46 on Table A4-1, License Renewal Commitments.

c) Revised commitment to perform non-intrusive pipe wall thickness measurements every three years in the Fire Water System program (B2.1.14). Refer to Item 10 of Table A4-1, License Renewal Commitments.

d) Revised the Structures Monitoring program (B2.1.31) to add the nitrogen tank foundation and pipe trench as miscellaneous in-scope structures. These were also added to Item 23 of Table A4-1, License Renewal Commitments.

As noted above, there are four (4) changes to commitments and one (1) new commitment contained in this transmittal.
