CONFIRMATION OF INITIAL OPERATOR LICENSE EXAMINATIONS:
CLINTON POWER STATION, UNIT 1 AND DRESDEN STATION NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3
Dear Mr. Pacilio:
We have received your corporate letter U-604164, dated April 4, 2014. In this letter, you requested that the initial operator licensing examination scheduled at the Clinton Power Station, Unit 1, for April 2015 and the initial operator licensing examination scheduled at the Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 2 and 3, for March 2015 be switched to support an outage at the Clinton Power Station.
In response, the NRC Operating Branch schedule has been changed to reflect that the Dresden Nuclear Power Station initial license exam is now scheduled for the weeks of April 6, 2015, and April 13, 2015. Similarly, the Clinton Power Station initial operator licensing exam is now scheduled for the weeks of March 16 and 23, 2015. The onsite validation dates for the Dresden Nuclear Power Station initial exam are March 9, 2015, and February 23, 2015, for the Clinton Power Station initial exam.
In the unlikely event that we are unable to support the examination during the scheduled weeks, we will inform you immediately, upon discovery, of such conditions and make arrangements to administer the examination at a mutually acceptable date.
We understand that your staff will develop both examinations unless we determine it is necessary for the NRC to develop an examination in which case, we will notify you immediately upon discovery of that need. Since both classes have more than nine applicants being considered for each of these examinations, the examinations were each scheduled for two weeks. Please inform us if the number of candidates change for any examination as this may impact the examination schedule. Also, please inform us at your earliest opportunity if you discover the need to change the scheduled dates for the examinations.
A supplementary letter will be sent to the training department approximately 120 days prior to the examination informing the training manager of the chief examiners name. The letter will also outline examination security expectations, list the materials required by the NRC to conduct the examination, reconfirm the examination date, and reconfirm the number of candidates you have in the Training Program.
