MILLSTONE POWER STATION UNIT 3 RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR ALTERNATIVE REQUEST IR-3-17 TO ASME SECTION XI FOR REPAIR/REPLACEMENT OF CLASS 3 SERVICE WATER SYSTEM VALVES In a letter dated March 28, 2013, Dominion Nuclear Connecticut, Inc. (DNC) requested approval of Alternative Request IR-3-17 to permit certain degraded valves in the service water system to remain in service until they could be replaced. The affected valves have now been replaced.

In a letter dated October 22, 2013, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) transmitted a request for additional information (RAI) to DNC related to the alternative request.

DNC agreed to respond by February 7, 2014. to this letter contains DNC's response to the RAI. Attachment 2 provides information on examination of MPS3 service water valves for selective leaching and provides information on examination of MPS3 service water valves for dealloying. Attachment 4 provides the bend test report for MPS3 service water valves.
