Grand Gulf Resolution of Fluence Methodology Gentlemen, This is an informal notice to shed some light on our plans with regards to our RPV fluence methodology.
Hopefully, this will benefit your long-term resource planning efforts.
We have reached an agreement with MPM Technology to revise our current fluence methodology from 0 EFPY through the end of extended operations (i.e. 60 year license). We assert that the final product will comply with Reg Guide 1.190 and all of the regulations it references within. We will respond to the current RAI (set
- 47) within two days. In our response we will address question #4, and formally notify you of our intent to supplement the response by submitting the new methodology when complete. Considering all of the milestones and reviews that are involved with the development of this new method, we estimate that the supplemental response will be provided to the NRC on or about May 30th, 2014.
When we submit this supplemental response, which pertains to our License Renewal Application, we also intend on submitting a License Amendment Request. If approved, this will revise our existing license basis to reflect the use of a single fluence method.
