DUANE ARNOLD ENERGY CENTER - REGULATORY CONFERENCE
Dear Mr. Anderson:
This letter confirms our plans, as discussed between members of our staffs, to hold a Regulatory Conference to discuss a preliminary White finding. The details regarding the issue were conveyed to you in our NRC Inspection Report 05000331/2013004 dated November 14, 2013. The meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Region III Office, 2443 Warrenville Road, Suite 210, Lisle, IL 60532-4352. This meeting will be open to the public.
The Regulatory Conference is being held to obtain information to assist the NRC in determining the safety significance of the finding and apparent violation detailed in the referenced inspection report. The conference will provide an opportunity for you to present your perspective on the facts and assumptions used by the NRC to arrive at the finding, your assessment of the significance of the finding, and any other information that you believe the NRC should take into consideration in making an enforcement decision.
The NRC would appreciate receiving any supporting documents no later than Friday, December 20, 2013, in order to make the conference more effective and efficient.
Following the conference, you will be advised by separate correspondence of the results of our deliberations on this matter.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records System (PARS) component of NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management Systems (ADAMS), accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
