RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (RAI)
On June 10, 2013, Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc. (DEK) requested an exemption from 10 CFR 73.55(j)(4)(ii) for Kewaunee Power Station (KPS). 10 CFR 73.55(j)(4)(ii) requires licensees establish a system that provides the capability for continuous communications between the alarm stations and the control room.
On November 4, 2013, DEK received a request for additional information (RAI) regarding the exemption request.
The RAI response is provided in the attachment to this letter. The RAI response does not affect the Environmental Considerations that was provided in to DEK's June 10, 2013 letter.
The attachment to this letter contains Safeguards Information as defined by 10 CFR 73.22 and its disclosure to unauthorized individuals is prohibited by Section 147 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
