ACRS LETTER ON RELIABILITY OF THE SHUTDOWN HEAT REMOVAL SYSTEM ON THE SYSTEM 80 DESIGN (Board Notification 82-38)
The attached ACRS letter updates the committee's position on the need for rapid direct depressurization capability on certain CB facilities, including W~terford 3 and Sa Onofre 2 and 3. The ACRS has concluded that although the issue should be evaluated, its resolution should not be a condition for operation at full powers--
