DRAFT-Peach Bottom EA.docx Good afternoon Mr. Janiti, As previously promised, I am forwarding you the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the exemption request for the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) Peach Bottom Nuclear Station. Please note that the EA is a draft & pre-decisional so it should not be made publicly available.
As part of its review of the exemption request, the NRC staff has prepared the attached draft EA and draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), and NRCs NEPA implementing regulations in 10 CFR Part 51. We conclude in the EA that the proposed action will not affect the quality of the human environment.
We are requesting that you review our draft EA and comment on environmental issues prior to the public issuance of the EA. Please let me know if you can support the exemption, or if you would like to provide comments, based on this email; or if you would prefer a more formal transmittal request.
