South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G), acting for itself and as an agent for South Carolina Public Service Authority, is submitting WCAP-17758-NP, Revision 0, "Technical Basis for Westinghouse Embedded Flaw Repair for V.C. Summer Unit 1 Reactor Vessel Head Penetration Nozzles and Attachment Welds."
SCE&G submitted the referenced letter to the NRC which proposed an alternative repair technique using the embedding methodology of Westinghouse WCAP-15987-P-A Revision 2, "Technical Basis for the Embedded Flaw Process for Repair of Reactor Vessel Head Penetrations", and was supported by evaluations provided in WCAP-17758-P, Revision 0 that are specific to VCSNS vessel design.
The attachment provides the non-proprietary version (WCAP-1 7758-NP, Revision 0) of this evaluation. SCE&G letter RC-1 3-0129 provides the proprietary version of the WCAP-17758 evaluation.
