Schedule for Completion of Modifications to the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant and Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Flood Mode Spool Pieces

TVA Letter, "Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) - Extension Request Regarding the Flooding Hazard Reevaluation Report Required by NRC Request for Information Pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 50.54(f) Regarding Recommendation 2.1, Flooding, of the Near-Term Task Force Review of Insights from the Fukushima Dai-ichi Accident" dated March 12, 2013 On March 12, 2013, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) submitted an extension request regarding the referenced Flooding Hazard Reevaluation Report. In enclosure 2 of the referenced letter, TVA committed to provide to the NRC a schedule for completion of modifications to the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN) and Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN) flood mode spool pieces by June 30, 2013. Since June 30, 2013 falls on Sunday, this letter is due Monday, July 1, 2013.
Currently, TVA plans to complete the SQN Unit 1 flood mode spool piece modifications by the end of the spring 2015 refueling outage (U1R20). The SQN Unit 2 flood mode spool piece modifications will be completed by the end of the fall 2015 refueling outage (U2R20).
The WBN Unit 1 flood mode spool piece modifications will be completed by the end of the fall 2015 refueling outage (U1R13).
