SUMMARY

OF JUNE 11, 2013, MEETING WITH TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY REGARDING WATTS BAR NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT 2 On June 11, 2013, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of this meeting was for TV A to present the status of construction and licensing efforts for the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Unit 2 project. A list of participants is enclosed.

TVA made a presentation to the NRC staff (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML13175A311 ), which covered the following topics: construction completion status, dual unit operation, startup testing, Fukushima, inspection planning and scheduling (IPS) status, waste confidence, and emergent regulation. Throughout the presentation the NRC staff asked clarifying questions, with a focus on understanding TVA's schedule and those activities that could impact the schedule, startup testing, Fukushima actions, and improvements made to support Region II in closing out IPS items.

No regulatory decisions were made at the meeting. Members of the public were in attendance via teleconference. No Public Meeting Feedback forms were received.
