SUMMARY

OF THE JUNE 11, 2013, PUBLIC MEETING/OPEN HOUSE TO DISCUSS NRC ACTIVITIES, NUCLEAR POWER ISSUES, AND 2012 END-OF-CYCLE PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF QUAD CITIES NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 On June 11, 2013, an open house public meeting was held at Cordova Civic Center in Cordova, IL, between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station management and staff. The purpose of the open house meeting was to provide an opportunity for the public to discuss NRC activities, nuclear power issues, and Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station performance for the period of January 1, 2012, through December 31, 2012. The NRC letter and meeting notice for this open house can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) as ML13136A344 and ML13137A366 respectively. A list of the Open House attendees is enclosed.

The public meeting discussed an overview of the NRCs Mission and Performance Goals, the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP), and national ROP results. The NRC discussed other agency regulatory activities such as nuclear security and nuclear waste.

The NRC also provided discussions related to the NRCs assessment of the Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station performance, which was documented in the March 4, 2012, End-of-Cycle Assessment Letter (reference ADAMS Accession Number ML13060A117). As part of this open house, staff members from both Exelon and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)

were available to address questions and concerns. Slides used to describe the NRC's ROP process and Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station 2012 performance can be found in ADAMS under ML13165A198. Throughout the open house, members of the public were given the opportunity to ask questions of Exelon officials and NRC officials.
