Task Force Question
- Charlie, Is your task force (or maybe you know of a longer term effort that will) looking at Mark 1 containment venting?
The TI - 183 inspections have noted that FitzPatrick does not have the classic harden vent. The pipe from thE torus simply goes to SBGTS. If containment was vented, standby gas is likely lost; and if there's a H2 detonation, the SBGTS building will be damaged. We accepted this design several years ago. The question is, does that licensing basis decision need to be revisited?
~Outside of Scope It would be a tremendous help if I could say in the TI report that the agency is re-evaluating/reviewing Mark 1 containment venting issues.
