Enclosure 4 of Reference 1 requested that each licensee perform flood protection walkdowns and report the results within 180 days of NRC endorsement of the flooding walkdown procedure (Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 12-07, "Guidelines for Performing Verification Walkdowns of Plant Flood Protection Features"). TVA completed the flood protection walkdowns at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN), Units 1, 2, and 3 and submitted the results in Reference 2. Reference 2 contained open items for BFN, Unit 2, where restricted access prevented walkdown of certain flood protection features. Walkdowns of the restricted access items for BFN, Unit 2, have been Printed on recycled paper
U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Page 2 June 6, 2013 completed and this letter provides the results. This submittal closes the open items identified in Reference 2, Commitment Number 1.
The enclosed table provides a list of the BFN, Unit 2, restricted access items inspected, their respective disposition, and any action planned or taken. As a result of the inspections:
There were 6 deficiencies found and all were entered into the Plant's Corrective Action Program (CAP).
" The 6 deficiencies were corrected under the CAP program. No temporary measures were required as a result of the completed inspections.
Available Physical Margins (APMs) were collected and documented in the walkdown record forms for each applicable item inspected in accordance with NEI 12-07.
All Restricted Items inspected were within the plant maintenance and monitoring programs.
