2 Revised / New Position DRAFT Statements Staff Revised Position:

The dam should be assumed to fail if cannot withstand its PMF, with associated effects.

Staff Revised Position:

Xu and Zhang (2009) breach methodology alone is not recommended will not be accepted for the 2.1 hazard re-analysis.

3 Revised / New Position Draft Statements Staff Revised Position:

Licensees are required should to perform a sunny day breach analysis on all critical dams assuming dams withstand hydrologic event Staff Revised Position:

ANS/ANSI 2.8 (modified with 10-4 motion) will be used in lieu of previous probabilistic methods i.e. 10-4 ground motion with 25 year flood (Alt 1),

1/2 of 10-4 ground motion with 1/2-PMF or 500 year flood, whichever is less (Alt 2)
