SUMMARY

OF APRIL 29, 2013, MEETING WITH TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY ON THE EXTENSION REQUEST TO 50.54(f) REQUEST On April 29,2013, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss TVA's extension request to respond to Recommendation 2.1, Flooding, of the Near-Term Task Force Review of the insights from the Fukushima Da-ichi Accident for Sequoyah Nuclear Plant and Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. TVA's original extension request for Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN) and Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN) was submitted on their due date of March 12, 2013 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML13080A073).

An agenda was provided with the meeting notice (ADAMS Accession No. ML13105A394). A list of attendees is enclosed.

Mr. ~Ioseph Shea discussed TVA's slide presentation (ADAMS Accession No. ML13120A132) with support from TVA staff, and answered questions from the NRC staff. TVA also indicated Browns Ferry's Hazard Reanalysis Report could not be completed prior to the completion of SQN and WBN analyses. TVA plans to resubmit a revised commitment letter for SQN and WBN including the following:

1. Change the response date from May 12, 2015, to March 12, 2015, for SQN and WBN plants. This proposed new schedule is consistent with that of other Category-3 plants in the NRC Letter "Prioritization Of Response Due Dates For Request For Information Pursuant To Title 10 Of The Code Of Federal Regulations 50.54(F) Regarding Flooding Hazard Reevaluations For Recommendation 2.1 Of The Near-Term Task Force Review Of Insights From The Fukushima Dai-Ichi Accident," dated May 11, 2012 (ADAMS Accession No.

12097A509).

2. Change the status update frequency from 6 months to 3 months.

No regulatory decisions were made at the meeting. Members of the public were in attendance but no public meeting feedback forms were received.
