SUMMARY
OF PUBLIC MEETING On April 18, 2013, at 6:00 p.m., the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a public open-house at the Peach Bottom Inn in Peach in Delta, PA. The NRC conducted the Annual Assessment Meeting to discuss its assessment of the safety performance at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station for 2012.
A notice of the open-house was issued on March 18, and was posted on the NRCs external (public) Web page. The meeting notice can be found in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) with Accession No. ML13077A439. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web page at: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
The NRC presented poster boards and handouts and met with members of the public to discuss its assessment of the safety performance of Peach Bottom Units 1 and 2 for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2012, as documented in our letter dated March 4, 2013 (ADAMS Accession No. ML13059A032. The NRC poster boards presented included background on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP). Additional information relative to the NRC's Annual Assessment Process and the safety performance of Peach Bottom Units 1 and 2 can be found on the NRC's web site at: www.nrc.gov/NRR/OVERSIGHT/ASSESS/index.html.
Members of the public and State officials, attended the open-house and were offered the opportunity to question the NRC regarding Peach Bottoms performance and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
