Dear Ms. Deel:

Please find enclosed the requested site maps to assist the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office in determining the affect to any historic properties from the license renewal of Callaway Plant, Unit 1.

As noted in our previous letter in April 2012, the staff has determined that the area of potential effect (APE) for a license renewal action is the area at the power plant site and its immediate environs that may be impacted by post-license renewal land-disturbing operations or projected refurbishment activities associated with the proposed action. This determination is made irrespective of ownership or control of the lands of interest. Ameren has stated that it has no plans to alter current operations of Callaway Plant Unit 1, as part of the license renewal and that while operating under a renewed license, would use existing plant facilities and transmission lines and would not require additional construction or disturbance of new areas. According to Ameren, any maintenance activities would be limited to previously disturbed areas.
