SUBJECT: FORT CALHOUN STATION - NOTIFICATION OF INSPECTION

(NRC INSPECTION REPORT 05000285/2013405) AND REQUEST FOR

INFORMATION

Dear Mr. Cortopassi:

On January 28, 2013, inspectors from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will

begin to conduct a security inspection at Fort Calhoun Station. The inspectors will be using

applicable portions of NRC Inspection Procedure 95003, Supplemental Inspection for

Repetitive Degraded Cornerstone, Multiple Degraded Cornerstones, Multiple Yellow Inputs or

One Red Input, to evaluate performance in the strategic performance area of security. This

inspection is a part of the MC 0350 oversight inspection activities.

The inspection will include two weeks of onsite inspection and the inspection team will consist of

five physical security inspectors. The current inspection schedule is as follows:

Preparation Week: January 21, 2013

Onsite weeks: January 28, 2013

February 11, 2013

In order to minimize the impact to your onsite resources and to ensure a productive inspection,

we have enclosed a request for documents and resources needed for this inspection. We are

requesting that this information be sent to each inspector on the team, and for the information to

arrive at the listed addresses no later than January 21, 2013. If there are any questions about

this inspection or the material requested, please contact the lead inspector, Jesse Rollins, at

Enclosure transmitted herewith contains SUNSI. When separated from enclosure, this

transmittal document is decontrolled.

This letter does not contain new or amended information collection requirements subject to the

Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.). Existing information collection

requirements were approved by the Office of Management and Budget, control number 3150-

0018. The NRC may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, a

request for information or an information collection requirement unless the requesting document

displays a currently valid Office of Management and Budget control number.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be

available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the

Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's Agencywide Document Access and

Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at

http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).

However, the material enclosed herewith contains Security-Related Information in accordance

with 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1) and its disclosure to unauthorized individuals could present a security

vulnerability. Therefore, the material in the enclosure will not be made available electronically

for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the NRC's document system

(ADAMS), accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.

If Security-Related Information is necessary to provide an acceptable response, please mark

your entire response Security-Related Information in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1) and

follow the instructions for withholding in 10 CFR 2.390(b)(1). In accordance with

10 CFR 2.390(b)(1)(ii), the NRC is waiving the affidavit requirements for your response.

If Safeguards Information (SGI) is necessary to provide an acceptable response, please handle,

mark, and package the SGI in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 73.21 and

10 CFR 73.22.
