December 17, 2012 Mr. Biff Bradley, Director Risk Assessment Nuclear Generation Division Nuclear Energy Institute 1201 F Street, NW, Suite 1100 Washington, DC 20004-1217
Dear Mr. Bradley:
It is my sincere pleasure to invite a representative of the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) to participate as a speaker at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) 25th Annual Regulatory Information Conference (RIC). The RIC will be held on March 12-14, 2013, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 5701 Marinelli Road, North Bethesda, MD 20852.
This 3-day annual conference is co-sponsored by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) and the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, and brings together more than 3,000 participants from over 30 countries representing interested parties from government, industry, international agencies, other interested parties and members of the public. The RIC provides an open forum for stakeholders to learn, share, and discuss information on significant and timely nuclear regulatory activities, processes, and emergent issues.
We request an AREVA NP representative participate as a panelist on a technical session entitled, Topical Reports: Perspectives on Their Use and Benefits to the NRC and Stakeholders, chaired by the NRCs Sher Bahadur, NRR. The session is scheduled for Thursday March 14, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The session will give participants an opportunity to learn about the use of topical reports and the benefits they can provide when used in the licensing process. This session will follow a discussion format and will include the perspectives of NRC project management and technical review staff, industry representatives, vendors, and public interest group representatives. It will also highlight recent updates to the NRC topical report review process. Your participation and the presentations of other panel members will help engage dialogue and stimulate questions and comments from session participants.
Stephen Philpott will be the Coordinator for this session, and can be reached at 301-415-2365 or via e-mail at Stephen.Philpott@nrc.gov.
We hope you are able to accept this invitation, and if you will be participating, request that you complete and return the enclosed Speaker Information and Confirmation form, Biographical Information form, and signed External Speaker Agreement form to Steve Philpott by December 21, 2012, to ensure inclusion in the final printed program.
