Bottom of equipment is bolted to C5 by 2 3/16 F-F bolts at each end. C5 is welded to embed steel in the wall at one end and to another C5, which in turn is welded to embeds at each end on the other side of the fan unit. Top of fan is welded to 3 angle frames. Frames are braced to each other and welded to angle runners which in turn are weld to ceiling embeds at 4 places per runner. Need documentation to verify anchorage configuration.

Yes Lines attached to equipment consist of flexible instrumentation tubing. Also, ductwork is well supported and braced and is attached to the AHU via a bellows. All attachment have adequate flexibility, therefore no seismic concern.

10.

Based on the above seismic interaction evaluations, is equipment free of Yes potentially adverse seismic interaction effects?

Other Adverse Conditions

11.

Have you looked for and found no adverse seismic conditions that could Yes adversely affect the safety functions of the equipment?

Comments Fan 1 FANHVACSWGRS1 1 is integral to the overall HVACSWGRS1 1 air handling unit. The anchorage and spatial interactions for the air handling unit were evaluated as a whole.

Are overhead equipment, distribution systems, ceiling tiles and lighting, and Yes masonry block walls not likely to collapse onto the equipment?

Masonry block walls, identified as QQ and A31 on drawing A-259, are safety-related and thus seismically rated per IE Bulletin 80-11.

9.

Do attached lines have adequate flexibility to avoid damage?

Yes

10.

Based on the above seismic interaction evaluations, is equipment free of Yes potentially adverse seismic interaction effects?

Other Adverse Conditions

11.

Have you looked for and found no adverse seismic conditions that could Yes adversely affect the safety functions of the equipment?

Instructions for Completing Checklist This checklist may be used to document the results of the Seismic Walkdown of an item of equipment on the SWEL. The space below each of the following questions may be used to record the results of judgments and findings. Additional space is provided at the end of this checklist for documenting other comments.

Anchorage

1.

Is anchorage configuration verification required (i.e., is the item one of the 50%

of SWEL items requiring such verification)?

Yes

2.

Is the anchorage free of bent, broken, missing or loose hardware?

3.

Is the anchorage free of corrosion that is more than mild surface oxidation?

4.

Is the anchorage free of visible cracks in the concrete near the anchors?

5.

Is the anchorage configuration consistent with plant documentation? (Note:

This question only applies if the item is one of the 50% for which an anchorage configuration verification is required.)

Anchorage is consistent with drawings 65426 sheet 3 and 91004 (J-103),

except for the CEA that are 1/2" instead of 3/8". However, drawing 65426 refers to its support as being similar to J-103, therefore using J-103 as the minimum requirement. Anchorage judged consistent.

6.

Based on the above anchorage evaluations, is the anchorage free of potentially adverse seismic conditions?

Yes Overhead light may fall and break sight glass.

10/3/12 - Overhead lights were deemed not a credible seismic concern due to their lightweight and to typical construction practices. Also, they have been previously evaluated by CCNPP and found seismically acceptable.
