Both Sing Sing and the County Jail are their own Census blocks, provided that when you're referring to the "jail" that you're technically speaking of the facility which houses both the jail and the penitentiary. (Although I'm not an expert on the subject, my understanding is that the jail holds people awaiting trial/sentencing and the penitentiary holds people serving terms of under 1 year.) Here's a quick table with some 2010 data for both blocks:

As a rule we cannot get institution specific information. However, it MAY be possible to get at this from the 2010 Census IF the institution accounts for all (or nearly all) of the residents in a census block. I'm not that familiar with the details of the institutions in Westchester County, so I don't know if this will work with these two facilities. (I've copied our affiliate data center contact at the Westchester County Department of Planning on this response in the hope that he can provide that kind of local knowledge and help you more than I can.)
At this point, all we would have from the 2010 Census in sufficient geographic detail to give to you is the race/Hispanic Origin information for the total population and the population 18 and older. More detailed age and gender data is scheduled to be released by the Census Bureau over the next few months. I don't know when the New York State data will be available.

Greetings, I am researching the demographics of several incarceration institutions in the Hudson Valley. Can you provide me the data on Sing Sing and Westchester County Jail, Valhalla as to percent:
- 1) Minorities?
- 2) Age ranges?
- 3) Gender?
If not, can you direct me to a source that could provide this information?
