Public Meeting - 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Location: One Liberty Lane Conference Center 1 Liberty Lane Hampton, NH 03842

Purpose:

The NRC will host an open house and public meeting to discuss the safety implications and status of its review of NextEras commitment actions related to the Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR) conditions in safety-related structures at Seabrook Station. The commitments are documented in a May 16, 2012, Confirmatory Action Letter No. 2012-002 (ML12125A172). An inspection report was issued December 3, 2012, to document the status review of the commitments (NRC Inspection Report No 05000443/2012009 - ML No. 12338A283).

Richard Conte, Seabrook ASR Senior Project Manager, RI William Cook, Senior Reactor Analyst (Team Leader), RI William Raymond, Senior Resident Inspector, Seabrook, RI Michael Marshall, Branch Chief, Aging Management of Structures, Electrical, and Systems Branch, Division of License Renewal NRR Martin Murphy, Branch Chief, Mechanical and Civil Engineering Branch, Division of Engineering, NRR Public Participation: This is a Category 3 Meeting. The NRC will host an open house to discuss the status of the NRC staffs review of the ASR conditions at Seabrook. NRC and NextEra staff will be available, at a poster session, to answer questions from individuals and discuss issues or concerns related to Seabrook. Following the poster session, the NRC will hold a public meeting followed by a question and answer period, during which members of the public will be able to ask questions.

5:30 - 6:45 p.m. Poster Session (NRC staff, NextEra staff, Other Organizations) 7:00 - 7:20 p.m. Presentation by NRC staff of Inspection Results 7:20 - 9:00 p.m. Formal Question and Answer Period NRC Policy Statement, Enhancing Public Participation in NRC Meetings, effective May 28, 2002, applies to this meeting.
