Dairyland Power Cooperative La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor (LACBWR)
Possession-Only License DPR-45 DPC Commitment to Place No Spent Fuel in LACBWR Spent Fuel Storage Pool
REFERENCE:
- 1) Letter (LAC-14254), DPC to NRC, dated September 12, 2012, "Request for Rescission of NRC Orders EA-02-077 and EA-03-099" By letter of Reference 1, DPC requested rescission from the security requirements of NRC Order EA 077, "Interim Compensatory Measures for the Current Threat Environment," and NRC Order EA-03-099, "Issuance of Order for Implementation of Additional Security Measures Associated with Access Authorization, Fitness for Duty and Behavior Observation." The basis for this request is because all spent nuclear fuel has been transferred from the LACBWR spent fuel pool to dry cask storage at the on-site Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI).
DPC hereby attests that there is no spent fuel stored in the LACBWR spent fuel pool. DPC hereby commits to the NRC that there shall be no spent fuel placed in the LACBWR spent fuel pool from this date forward. If for some unforeseeable reason spent fuel should need to be returned to the spent fuel pool prior to that system's demolition, DPC shall immediately reinstate compliance with the requirements of NRC Orders EA-02-077 and EA-03-099.
