INITIAL STATUS REPORTS FOR ORDER EA-12-049, ORDER EA-12-050, AND ORDER EA-12-051
Dear Mr. Pollock:
We have been informed that there is some confusion over the due date for the initial status reports required by Order EA-12-049, Order Modifying Licenses with Regard to Requirements for Mitigation Strategies for Beyond-Design-Basis External Events; Order EA-12-050, Order Modifying Licenses with Regard to Reliable Hardened Containment Vents; and Order EA-12-051, Order Modifying Licenses with Regard to Reliable Spent Fuel Pool Instrumentation.
All three orders require licensees to provide to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) an initial status report 60 days after issuance of the associated final interim staff guidance (ISG).
For the purpose of meeting this deadline, the NRC considers the issuance date for all three ISGs to be August 30, 2012, which is the date they were made publicly available. Therefore, the initial status reports must be provided by October 29, 2012.
